In the upcoming movie “The Marvels,” Zawe Ashton’s character, Dar-Benn, demonstrates her formidable powers as the main villain in the MCU’s next installment.
The Kree empire is set to make a significant resurgence in “Captain Marvel 2,” with Zawe Ashton embodying Dar-Benn, a powerful Kree leader who will directly confront Carol Danvers in her solo sequel.
Although we have only caught glimpses of her in brief footage so far, Ashton’s portrayal of the villain indicates that she poses a substantial threat to Captain Marvel as she embarks on yet another perilous solo mission across the galaxy.
The newly released second trailer for “The Marvels” showcases Zawe Ashton’s character, Dar-Benn, the Kree leader.
Approximately 30 seconds into the trailer, we witness Ashton utilizing her powers against her foes, wielding a Kree hammer reminiscent of Ronan the Accuser’s weapon from “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

Dar-Benn unleashes a massive blast of purple energy, propelling her enemies several feet into the air, while boldly stating to Captain Marvel, “You took everything from me, and now I’m returning the favor.”

Furthermore, Dar-Benn uncovers a bangle closely resembling the one Ms. Marvel uses, hinting that she may employ it in “Captain Marvel 2” to entangle the powers of the three leading heroines.

This new trailer for “The Marvels” is provided below:
Dar-Benn emerges as the next formidable villain in the MCU, portraying a gender-swapped version of a powerful Kree general from the comics. She will prove to be a formidable adversary for Carol Danvers, despite the additional support from Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan.
Marvel has significantly teased Zawe Ashton’s character through promotional materials, aiming to maintain their streak of compelling movie villains, following the portrayals of Kang the Conqueror and the High Evolutionary.
While it remains uncertain if this marks a one-time appearance for Ashton and her character, she will undoubtedly play a vital role in shaping “Captain Marvel 2,” making it one of Marvel’s most momentous stories within the Multiverse Saga.
“The Marvels” is scheduled to premiere in theaters on November 10.
