Obi-Wan Kenobi director Deborah Chow offered her opinion on a potential Season 2 of the popular Star Wars television show.
The Disney+ series ended in June of last year, but there hasn’t been any recent progress for a second season. But there were rumors that Season 2 was in the works before the season finale.
The most recent information on a potential continuation was provided by Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, who stated that while a second season is “not in active development,” it is still possible that something may occur “down the road.”

Director Deborah Chow of Obi-Wan Kenobi discussed the probability that Season 2 of Ewan McGregor’s show will be ordered on the Crew Call podcast from Deadline.
The initial batch of episodes “was always conceived as a limited [series],” Chow acknowledged, but “never say never:”
“This was always conceived of as a limited [series], and I’m sure you can tell from the story that it is closed. We did obviously seem to tell one big story. Who knows, there are ten more years before ‘A New Hope’ starts, so never say never. But for this particular [project], it really was conceived to be a limited [series].”
What may the second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi hold?
Between Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 1 and A New Hope, there is a sizable period of time, as Deborah Chow said, so there is plenty of room for intriguing storylines.
Fans have been requesting a crossover between Cameron Monaghan’s Cal Kestis and Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi ever since the latest Disney+ series premiered, so hopefully Lucasfilm can pull it off.
The future of Moses Ingram’s Reva Sevander is one of the largest unresolved mysteries of the Kenobi series. Future installments of the series should explore what transpired with her and the Inquisitor program as a whole.
There is Obi-Wan himself, of course. As viewers see the Jedi’s late leader teach Qui-Gon Jinn how to manage his Force ghost skills, perhaps more Qui-Gon Jinn is in order.
Disney+ is currently streaming Obi-Wan Kenobi.
