Netflix Is Planning To Put Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon In Theaters This December

One could argue that Zack Snyder is a polarizing director because his films are so visually stunning that even his most ardent critics have to admit that fact.

Nevertheless, the news that Netflix intends to offer Rebel Moon Part 1: A Child of Fire a limited theatrical run should delight a lot of Snyder fans.

In particular, the movie will be shown in 70mm in four key international cities: Toronto, London, Los Angeles, and New York.

The movie will be shown on a gigantic screen in Los Angeles at the Egyptian Theatre, but in New York, it will be shown in the Paris Theater.

Those who live in or close to London can see the movie at the Prince Charles Cinema, while Canadian fans can see it in Toronto’s TIFF Bell Lightbox theater.

Netflix is set to release Rebel Moon Part 1: A Child of Fire on December 22, 2023, and Rebel Moon Part 2: The Scargiver on April 19, 2024.

Snyder said that both of the films had an additional hour of content, and it has now been confirmed that both have director’s cuts that go well beyond their two-hour running times.

Sofia Boutella (Star Trek Darkness, Kingsman: The Secret Service) plays Kora, the main character in Rebel Moon, while Fra Fee (Hawkeye) plays Regent Balisarius, the main adversary.

Charlie Hunnam (from Sons of Anarchy and King Arthur: Legend of the Sword), Michiel Huisman (from World War Z and Game of Thrones), Djimon Hounsou (from Shazam), Doona Bae (from Jupiter Ascending and Cloud Atlas), Ray Fisher (from Justice League), Cleopatra Coleman (from The Last Man on Earth and Cobweb), Jena Malone (from Sucker Punch and Neon Demon), Ed Skrein (from Deadpool and Alita: Battle Angel), and Anthony Hopkins (from Thor: Ragnarok and The Rite) are among the other actors starring in the movie.
