When “Daredevil” made its Netflix debut in 2015, it marked the beginning of the streaming service’s exploration of long-form storytelling for Marvel properties that received positive reviews. Charlie Cox played Matt Murdock/Daredevil in the major role, and his portrayal as the title character propelled the action-drama show onward. The show was discontinued after three seasons, however it now neatly fits into the MCU’s storyline and can be viewed on Disney+ among other Marvel products.
As part of the Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the upcoming remake “Daredevil: Born Again” will update the title character’s nightly crime-fighting in New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen thanks to Disney+’s ambition to produce multiple original programming alongside the MCU. Along with Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk, Cox will return. The Hollywood Reporter has also announced that Jon Bernthal will reprise his role as The Punisher in the upcoming series. Fans are speculating on whether Karen and Foggy will return on social media because Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson aren’t returning for the new project because it is a reworking to fit inside the larger MCU.
Fans are speculating that the roles of Karen and Foggy may be recast
For fans of prominent characters from the comics and the original series, casting news for “Daredevil: Born Again” has been favorable. Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll, who play the relaunched versions of Foggy Nelson and Karen Page, respectively, are not listed on the show’s roll call, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Twitter is being used by fans to voice their concerns with @OwennZo posting “THIS MAKES ME SO SAD. I’m soo happy we got Jon Bernthal back but man did I also want these guys back especially Elden Henson as Foggy. “
The user also explained how both characters played crucial roles in the “Daredevil” universe.
Bernthal’s comeback was welcomed by @DanThatMadman, who also expressed his desire for the two characters and their respective actors to eventually make an appearance in the new series. Other franchise supporters expressed their annoyance and were less upbeat and optimistic in their assessments.
“It’s great like that Jon Bernthal is coming back as Frank but how tf you gonna do a Daredevil sequel series without Karen and Foggy man,” @ MxttHxll wrote, adding a sad emoji. It is unknown if Karen and Foggy will appear in the next series of “Daredevil: Born Again,” despite the fact that Woll and Henson are not set to star.
