While Nick Fury may be the star of Marvel Studios’ upcoming Disney+ series Secret Invasion, the cast also includes several MCU veterans and newcomers.
Marvel Studios referred to Secret Invasion as the first Disney+ “crossover event” for the MCU because of the impending Skrull invasion that poses the threat in this “espionage thriller” series.
The show’s confirmed cast is broken down as follows:
Every Marvel Actor & Character in Secret Invasion
1.) Samuel L. Jackson – Nick Fury
Samuel L. Jackson, one of the MCU’s original actors, last appeared as Nick Fury in Spider-Man: Far From Home in Phase 3, where it was revealed that he was now in space.
Fury has finally returned to Earth for the MCU’s first Phase 5 series, although he is without his recognizable eye patch.
Fury may, however, find himself in the firing line for this “one last fight,” as suggested by images of his own tombstone and cautions from the actors in the series trailer.
If you haven’t watched the latest Secret Invasion you can watch it below:
2.) Ben Mendelsohn – Talos
Ben Mendelsohn’s portrayal of the Skrull general Talos made his Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) debut in the 2019 film Captain Marvel, where he first met Nick Fury and at last met his wife and kids.
Later, Talos played the former SHIELD director in Spider-Man: Far From Home at Fury’s own request.
Yet, recent Secret Invasion marketing implies that Talos is in serious peril and needs the support of his friend.
3.) Cobie Smulders – Maria Hill
In Spider-Man: Far From Home, Maria Hill, a former deputy director of SHIELD and Nick Fury’s right-hand lady, made an appearance. The movie’s ending, however, showed that Talos’ wife, Soren, had been pretending to be Agent Hill the entire time.
Theoretically, Smulders’ Hill was last seen by spectators in a real sense at Tony Stark’s funeral, after being brought back by the Hulk’s Endgame snap.
It will be intriguing to find out exactly where she has been in the intervening years and the scope of her involvement in the future series.
4.) Martin Freeman – Everett Ross
Unlike the most of the characters so far, Martin Freeman’s Everett Ross just made an appearance in 2022’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, when he was detained after aiding Wakanda by his ex-wife and new CIA Director, Val.
By the end of the movie, Ross is saved by Okoye, and it appears that his new path will put him in the path of Secret Invasion.
His MCU tale might go almost anywhere given his connections to Val and the American government.
5.) Kingsley Ben-Adir – Gravik
In Secret Invasion, MCU newcomer Kingsley Ben-Adir portrays the villainous Skrull Gravik, the head of a group of extreme Skrulls who are “tired of asking… [and] waiting.”
A shot of Gravik extending what appeared to be a Groot-like appendage in the series trailer hinted that Super-Skrulls might exist in the MCU.
6.) Emilia Clarke – G’iah
Emilia Clarke is portraying G’iah, Talos’ daughter, in Secret Invasion, according to recent sources, who was last seen in Captain Marvel.
Although Clarke has received a lot of attention in the show’s promotion so far, there are rumors that her complicated connection with Talos may influence the plot.
7.) Olivia Colman – Sonya Falsworth
Awarded an Academy Award The MCU welcomes Olivia Colman as MI6 operative Sonya Falsworth.
It appears that Colman’s Agent Falsworth will play a prominent oppositional role in the Skrull invasion, charged with defending England’s national security interests.
8.) Don Cheadle – James “Rhodey” Rhodes
In Secret Invasion, the world may be without the Avengers, but War Machine is at least one surviving ex-Avenger.
The appearance of Don Cheadle’s Rhodey, Iron Man’s close friend, is expected to contribute to the plot of Nick Fury attempting to deal with the effects of Avengers: Endgame.
Moreover, Cheadle’s Armor Wars movie is allegedly still in development. Given his military experience, his appearance in the movie could have an impact on Captain America: New World Order in 2024.
9.) Dermot Mulroney – United States President Ritson
Considering Rhodey’s political links, Dermot Mulroney from Friends is portraying President Ritson of the United States.
A fake newspaper from the Disney+ set, which depicted Rhodey meeting President Ritson in London, broke the news of his involvement.
Yet Mulroney’s Ditson won’t hold the position of Commander in Chief for very long. For Captain America: New World Order, Thunderbolt Ross, played by Harrison Ford, has previously been announced as the MCU’s next president.
10.) Charlayne Woodward – Priscilla Fury
The Disney+ series featured actress Charlayne Woodard as Priscilla Fury, Nick’s wife, as evidence that Secret Invasion was both a personal and professional assignment for Nick Fury.
Her persona is anticipated to be a SWORD agent, which links her to both the Skrulls and Fury’s whereabouts.
11. Killian Scott
Actor Killian Scott, best known for his appearances on television in Love/Hate and Damnation, will make his MCU debut in Secret Invasion.
Scott plays Fiz, a Skrull with connections to Professor X and the X-Men in Marvel Comics, according to an exclusive from The Direct.
12. Samuel Adewunmi
The Last Tree and Angela Black actor Adewnumi is set to feature in Secret Invasion, yet nothing is known about his Marvel role.
Fans may anticipate learning more about his role in the coming weeks as marketing picks up.
13. Christopher McDonald
Actor Christopher McDonald, widely known for his work on Happy Gilmore, is another new addition to the MCU.
McDonald has reportedly “could cross over to the larger MCU,” and he has referenced “doing a lot of stuff with Samuel [Nick Fury].”
Although Marvel Studios is keeping his identity a secret, it sounds like McDonald’s part could be important in an MCU future that goes beyond Secret Invasion.
14. Katie Finneran
Actress Katie Finneran is set to appear in Secret Invasion, although little is known about her part or character.
Finneran is well-known for her Bloodline character, and in 2020’s Freaky, she co-starred with another MCU newcomer, Ant-Man 3’s Kathyrn Newton.
On June 21, Secret Invasion makes its Disney+ debut.
