Mark Hamill received a tweet of congratulations from The Mandalorian co-star Ming-Na Wen when it was revealed that he will reprise his role as Luke Skywalker in a future Star Wars film.
Although Mark Hamill hasn’t been associated with the role of Jedi master since his unexpected appearance in Chapter 6 of The Book of Boba Fett in 2021, he still plays a significant role in the lives of fans of the Galaxy Far, Far Away.
His final film appearance was in Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, which was released in 2019. Because he perished and vanished into thin air in the previous episode, he emerges as a ghost from the force in this film.
However, with the Star Wars film schedule now being substantially reworked following the death of Luke Skywalker at the conclusion of the Skywalker Saga, many are asking whether and when the original star would once again don the Jedi robes and lightsaber.
Mark Hamill's 2025 Film Return is Promoted by The Mandalorian Star
Mark Hamill received congratulations from Ming-Na Wen, who portrayed Fennec Shand in both The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, on his reported return as Luke Skywalker in the forthcoming 2025 Star Wars picture from Lucasfilm.
Wen tweeted an unverified report from Giant Freakin’ Robot (GFR) stating that Mark Hamill and Hayden Christensen will reprise their roles as Anakin and Luke Skywalker, respectively, in the next film starring Daisy Ridley as Rey.
She also tweeted three “hands clapping” emojis and three red hearts to congratulate Mark Hamill on the news along with the unconfirmed report.

One thing to keep in mind is that GFR’s news should be treated with caution because the website doesn’t always have the best reputation for its exclusive stories.
Is Mark Hamill Really Going to Come Back to Star Wars?
The previous several years have been difficult for Mark Hamill’s connection with Star Wars, but when the series grew beyond the Skywalker Saga, fans were ecstatic to see him on Disney+.
Despite the fact that this post from Ming-Na Wen clearly begs the issue of if or when he will return, he has been very complimentary of his time working on The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.
Daisy Ridley’s Star Wars movie is currently in a new stage of development after Damon Lindelof, the original screenwriter, was asked to leave the project with a draft of the screenplay on the table.
Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, did indicate that Hammil’s figure will have a part in this next picture, with Rey attempting to establish the new Jedi Order “based on the text that she was given and that Luke imparted on her.”
While there is definitely a chance for Hamill to stake out that tale, this in no way implies that he will really appear in the film, whether it be in Force ghost form or through flashbacks.
The Star Wars movie starring Daisy Ridley is scheduled to hit theaters on December 19, 2025.
