The topic “Loki Season 2: Jonathan Majors’ Expected Episode Count Revealed Amid Controversy” has two versions, below you can read the article, and below the article, you can watch the video version.
According to a recent report, Jonathan Majors (known for his role as Kang the Conqueror) is set to have a significant presence in the second season of Loki, despite ongoing controversy surrounding him. Majors had been arrested earlier this year for alleged assault and was originally scheduled to go to trial in September. However, the trial has been postponed for a second time and is now set for later in the month. Despite these developments, Majors has been heavily featured in the promotional material for the upcoming season of Loki, which is set to premiere on Disney+ in October. Marvel has not commented on the situation, leaving many fans to speculate about what it could mean for Majors’ future with the franchise.
Jonathan Majors' Expected Episode Count
The Hollywood Reporter (THR) has reported that Jonathan Majors, who plays Kang, will be featured in approximately half of the episodes in the second season of Loki. With the confirmed episode count of six, this means that he is expected to appear in at least three of them. This news may not come as a shock to even casual Marvel Cinematic Universe fans, as Majors has been prominently featured in most promotional material for the show, including the post-credits scene from Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.
Up until now, the new content showcasing Majors presents him as playing the role of Kang’s Victor Timely Variant, which can be distinguished by his glasses, longer hair, clock imagery, and a seemingly steampunk-influenced style. It has been confirmed that only the Victor Timely Variant of Kang will appear in the new season, but considering the numerous variants of Kang, it is still possible for others to show up in the three episodes that Majors is said to be in.
Kang's Potential Role in Loki Season 2
It appears that Jonathan Majors may only appear in three episodes of the show. It is possible that he will either play a character whose identity is not revealed until later on or one whose role in the season is completed midway. The last time fans saw Majors was in the post-credits scene of Ant-Man 3 where Loki and Mobius were searching for Victor Timely. Depending on when this scene takes place in relation to the rest of the season, Kang’s role may become more apparent to viewers.
It’s likely that Victor Timely will play a role in the upcoming season if the scene took place prior to the events of the show. But there’s also a chance that this scene could be included in the new season itself. Marvel has been known to use scenes from future projects as post-credits scenes in their movies, such as Ant-Man including a scene from Captain America: Civil War. Therefore, Kang may not appear until later in the season if the scene fans have already seen takes place out of chronological order.
The second season of Loki will debut on Disney+ on Friday, October 6th.
