Katee Sackhoff Responds to Pedro Pascal's Comments on Bo-Katan Taking Over The Mandalorian

The topic “Katee Sackhoff Responds to Pedro Pascal’s Comments on Bo-Katan Taking Over The Mandalorian” has two versions, a written version, and a video version below the written version.

Katee Sackhoff, who plays Bo-Katan in The Mandalorian, commented on the fan speculation that Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin would be replaced by her character in the show’s title. As Season 3 was airing, many fans felt that the focus was shifting towards Bo-Katan, making her the titular Mando instead of Din Djarin. This idea was supported by one of the show’s executive producers. In an interview with Variety, Pascal himself acknowledged the heavy focus on Bo-Katan, stating that it was great to bring a beloved character from the world of executive producer Dave Filoni into the spotlight. Pascal also expressed his desire to see Bo-Katan take center stage, both as an actor and a fan of The Clone Wars.

Katee Sackhoff, the actress who portrays Bo-Katan in The Mandalorian, recently gave an interview to The Direct’s Russ Milheim, ahead of her appearance at Fan Expo in San Francisco. During the interview, she addressed rumors that her character would replace the titular character Mando in the Disney+ series. She clarified that there were no discussions on the set about such a status quo shift with the executive producers Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni. Sackhoff also mentioned that, due to the high speculation in the fan community, there could be a lot of misinformation circulating.

“No. I think there’s always going to be a lot of speculation in this fandom. You know, I think it’s one of the reasons why people love this fandom so much. And they love this universe so much that a lot of times it allows just enough ambiguity for people to interpret things the way that they want to interpret them. And out of that, there is the ability to have a lot of misinformation get out, or just, you know, wishful thinking.”

She reiterated that “Bo-Katan’s story needed to be told,” but clarified that “The Mandalorian” will always belong to Din Djarin.

“And I think in this situation, I think that the story of the Mandalorians and the story of Bo-Katan needed to be told, I don’t believe in any way that it was taking away from Din [Djarin’s] story, nor was that ever the intention. And you know, Pedro and I aren’t in charge of who gets to lead the show [laughs]. This is Din Djarin’s show, it will always be Din Djarin’s show.”

What Does the Future Look Like for The Mandalorian?

Given the title of The Mandalorian, it wouldn’t be entirely surprising to see the focus shift to another Mando from time to time. However, given where Season 3 left Din Djarin and Grogu, their next few adventures could easily be separate from what’s going on in Mandalore with Bo-Katan. It would be natural to refocus on Pedro Pascal’s hero.

Hopefully, fans will receive more information about The Mandalorian Season 4, which will go into production soon. After all, Jon Favreau did admit that he’s had the scripts ready for a while now.

Regardless of what happens in Bo-Katan’s future, it’s hard to imagine her not being involved in Dave Filoni’s big MandoVerse crossover movie.

The Mandalorian is now available for streaming on Disney+. Fans can also meet Katee Sackoff in person at Fan Expo in San Francisco from Friday, November 24 to Sunday, November 26. You can get tickets to the Fan Expo below.
