Xochitl Gomez, who stars in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, has expressed her interest in a Young Avengers team-up to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige. She did this by creating a new online video.
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, super-powered adolescents have appeared after Avengers: Endgame. Although no Young Avengers project has been confirmed, characters like Kate Bishop, Riri Williams, Cassie Lang, and America Chavez seem ready for a costumed crossover. Dominique Thorne, who portrays Riri Williams, has previously commented on the possibility of a Young Avengers project.
America Chavez, who made her debut in the MCU in Doctor Strange 2, is one of the young characters who could potentially be part of a Young Avengers team. When asked about the team-up, Chavez expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “Whatever they plan to do, I’m willing to do it.”
Xochitl Gomez Makes Her Young Avengers Case
MCU actresses Xochitl Gomez and Kathryn Newton post TikTok video baiting Kevin Feige for a Young Avengers project.
The video features the two actresses responding excitedly to a question about working together on a project.
This video may be referring to a potential Marvel Studios title for the Young Avengers, as Gomez and Newton are recent additions to the MCU. The full video is available below:
This isn’t the first time that America Chavez’s star has joined forces with a probable Young Avengers colleague on social media. In December 2022, the actress made headlines by celebrating Hailee Steinfeld’s (who portrays the MCU’s Kate Bishop) birthday with the Hawkeye lead.
When Will a Young Avengers Movie Happen?
It seems highly likely that an MCU Young Avengers project is in the works. Xochitl Gomez has been particularly vocal about wanting to see this superstar team up, but she’s not alone. Hailee Steinfeld, who plays Kate Bishop, has also expressed interest in being part of the Young Avengers team but has not received any confirmation yet.
Marvel Studios has not been subtle about introducing more than nine characters who are traditionally connected to the Young Avengers, leading fans to speculate that this is not a coincidence. Therefore, it appears that Marvel Studios is working toward assembling the team.
Earlier this year, reports indicated that the upcoming Vision Quest series would lay the foundation for a Marvel teenage team, possibly leading to a Young Avengers movie or streaming series.
Kevin Feige mentioned during Comic-Con 2022 that if there were to be a team-up, it would take place after Phase 5 and 6, which means it might not happen before 2027, at the earliest.
