In the first images from the Captain America: New World Order filming, Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson can be seen on the set.
Wilson, played by Mackie, will play the primary role in New World Order, his first major motion picture role after assuming the role of Captain America in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
The fourth patriotic blockbuster, which will be released in theaters on May 3, 2024, has started filming in Atlanta, Georgia, on March 20. Production is scheduled to last until June 30, 2024.
First Look at Captain America 4 Set Revealed
Anthony Mackie, who plays Sam Wilson in Captain America: New World Order, was first seen by fans on JustJared’s set in Atlanta, where filming for the movie started earlier this month.
Additional photographs proved that Smyth’s Diner, a deep-cut setting from Marvel Comics, was the place where New World Order was shooting. Wilson is located in West Virginia, which is marked on the wall of the restaurant by a baseball shirt.
Wilson was raised in Louisiana and has roots in the Harlem district of New York City, so it’s unclear what will lead him to West Virginia. Moreover, West Virginia doesn’t appear to be a place with strong ties to his past or family.
Only twice in the Adventures of Captain America #2 and #3 did Smyth’s Diner appear in Marvel Comics, and both times it was in Maryland, which is situated next to West Virginia on the United States map.
A lot of set work will be done in Atlanta for New World Order, according to source Charles Murphy, who was speaking about the MCU movies presently being filmed. “on location around Atlanta and other cities,” as the production is going.
Daredevil: Born Again and Agatha: Coven of Chaos are both now filming in New York and Atlanta, respectively. Wonder Man, Blade, Deadpool 3, and Thunderbolts will start production next, according to Murphy.
It’s anticipated that Captain America 4 will eventually film scenes in Washington, D.C., presumably relating to Harrison Ford’s new MCU president character.
Coming Soon: More Captain America 4 Pictures
Fans may anticipate seeing a lot more set images in the upcoming months as Captain America: New World Order is rumored to be filming “around Atlanta and other places” for a large portion of the movie. More of Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie, as well as the rest of the A-list cast, should be included in this.
A number of additional characters have already been announced to join Mackie in Captain America 4, including a fresh take on Falcon, a renowned Israeli superhero, and—possibly most excitingly—the MCU debut of the iconic Harrison Ford as General Ross and the country’s next president.
Hopefully, this won’t result in too many New World Order spoilers leaking off the set over the ensuing months. In any case, Marvel Studios has had a significant leak issue in recent years, particularly after the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania script leaked online.
But, it has already been made known that the studio is taking extreme security measures to guard against Captain America 4 script leaks. This is in addition to adjustments taken throughout the entirety of Marvel Studios to prevent leaks resulting from internal early testing screenings.
Captain America: New World Order premieres in theaters on May 3, 2024.
